“Kind people are my kinda people.” – anon.
When was the last time you took the time to pay a compliment to someone? Or better still, compliment someone other than their appearance whether its the way they look or the new handbag they have bought… tricky one, hey?
While this is really nice, we encourage you to be a bit more imaginative next time. There are a load of other ways to be complimentary.
Ibbleobble® have put together a few suggestions that may help you pay a compliment to family, friend or how about being kind to a stranger?
“You light up the room”
We would probably say this is up there with one of the best compliments anyone could say. It’s a huge statement! Imagine having such a superpower that people simply like being around you and your company. By entering a room you give off strong positive vibes. People love that stuff!
“You have the best laugh”
This compliment is super cute! This means at that very moment in time you are having a right giggle. They say laughter is the best medicine, don’t they? I think the best laughs are the infectious type and referring to someone’s laugh highly complimentary as each and every one of us laughs in a different way. Go on, have a giggle!
“You inspire me”
I wonder how many times you have said this to people? I am proud to say I have. It’s such a bold statement to make and sure to make someone’s day. People are inspired in so many different ways, but even if someone has inspired you in a small way, let them know!
“I love how passionate you are”
A few people most cert
“You make the world a better place by being in it”
I suppose you could say this goes hand-in-hand with the above compliment. People who are simply passionate about life are more likely to make the world a better place by being in it. Being a good person should be standard. And if you’re a good person, people shine off it!
“You are one of the bravest people I know”
Being brave doesn’t necessarily mean you are tough or a strong person, being brave means that you are willing to take risks and have the resilience to deal with whatever comes your way. Maybe this means you are going out of your comfort zone or going into the unknown. I once read a meme which read “You have survived 100% of your bad days” – How very true. We dig brave people!
“You make me feel comfortable being myself”
Wow! Huge compliment! In a sad world where we are often ‘told’ to mould into this kind of person to fit in, there is honestly no better feeling of being able to be yourself. Bravo to all those people who make others feel great. I think that is an underrated superpower that needs applauding.
“You are incredible friend”
As you get older your friend circle gets a lot smaller. Incredible friends are all that you need. Most of us probably can count these friends on one hand and
“You have a refreshing perspective”
Crikey! I have that one ‘glass is always half full’ friend in mind and they know it, so I would never pay a compliment to them! Not everything is ‘Doom and gloom’ and I often seek their advice because chances are they have that (rather annoying) spin which makes everything feel better. Kudos to you!
“You are so smart”
If I was to pick a trait out that I find most interesting, people’s intelligence is right up there near the top. It doesn’t always mean academically smart people neither. People can be smart in so many different ways. I would consider every one of my friends who are parents as ‘smart’ – raising a child in an immense, challenging achievement!
“You are truly making a difference”
Being like everyone else is boring. Ibbleobble® are trying to make a difference in children’s learning journey. We encourage you all to be different and make a difference! Start by taking one of these compliments and let people know you are recognising their efforts in life. Try it, you might like it!
